‘I’ve recently started going to the gym and I am finding that I am suddenly getting lots of spots appear on my back. I’m sure it is from going to the gym. How can I stop this happening?’

“That is great that you are getting into a good fitness regime. The spots will be caused by a build up of sweat on the skin. After your workout the skins pores will be open from the heat your body has generated. If there is dirt on your skin it can sit in your pores and block them.
The best thing to help prevent this would be…
- Take a towel into the gym with you so you can wipe away the sweat during your work out.
- Make sure you shower after your workout. Avoid strong fragranced soaps or body washes.
- Don’t apply any product to the area after your shower. Including body sprays.
- Wear loose clothing rather than anything too tight, which will aggravate the area more.”
